A brief history

Established in 1963 the Fayetteville community college system was enacted. Throughout its beginning years the community colleges surrounding Fayetteville grew and evolved in response to the growing needs of the surrounding communities. Community colleges surrounding Fayetteville offer unique needs due to the nearby military instillations Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. In 1974 Fayetteville community college established an educational office inside Fort Bragg and began attending to the needs of the military forces stationed with units at Fort Bragg.

Over the years Fayetteville community colleges continue to evolve and grow. In 1996 ground was broken to begin the construction for the Health Technology Center. Shortly after, in the spring of 1998, construction began on the college's Administrative building followed by construction of the Early Childhood Educational Center.

Fayetteville community college continues its growth adding agricultural buildings, a criminal justice building, and a dedicated parking lot with spaces provided for over 400 students and attendees.
